New Brunswick in 2 weeks

Any suggestions for fishing the Potomac around New Brunswick? We reserved a camp site right on the river for the 1st weekend of October.

With normal flows the river is shallow enough to wade from the bridge at Brunswick to the east (downstream) for quite a long way. Smallmouth are often aggressive at this time of year as they fatten up for the coming winter.

I like active presentations like spinnerbaits, flukes and floating crankbaits done on the deadstick, but that just how I fish. But be prepared to bottom bounce with tubes, or crawfish plastic or a jig and pig rig. fish could be anywhere but work the tail of pools, drop offs and breaks in moving water.
