tie fest 2011

not fishing this saturday so i thought id check out the cca tie fest at KI yacht club 0930 til 300. alot of good stuff and lefty and bob clouser

I was there last year and there were a lot of fishing "celebrities" there. Definitely a cool show and the instructions you get there are memorable. Also a lot of guides that run trips on the flats there that you can talk to.

Iv'e never been, but to my knowledge and info on internet it looks like a fly fishing expo. with seminars

Fly tying show with lots of the great names of fly fishing there - some items for sale as well. Clouser, Kreh, Bob Pop, etc...

just read on TF that lefty is giving one of is personal rod to be raffled off, i wonder what that will bring in revenue for cca

pretty nice show, amazing fly tiers showing of their talent. crowded by 11, not many deals on tying materials did get some crystal flash but buck tail was over priced. better deals on material next weekend at the PSG ffm

Hey guy ....... this is not a Flea market .......ya don't go expecting deals. Just about all of the stuff there is the high dollar quality stuff ....... not the somethings someone wants to get rid of ....... this is a place for the purists and those that want to learn from the experts go ....... as you said there are some amazing tiers and they are willing to spend all of the time you want to learn their tricks .......

i'm not talking about the fly tiers they are amazing as for " high quality stuff" from the vender's i've seen most of the same stuff at the other shows from some of the same people.

i know what you mean. i am so tired of seing Joe from shore tackle. that guy tries to sell me one of their custom 9wts they make with st. croix blanks every time i see him.

one guy had these metal fish heads that go over the hook eye, they were pretty cool and the flies were almost too nice to fish with
