  • My new Steve Fogle Custom!

Just wanted to share a great experience with you guys on a recent purchase from a local custom rod builder, Steve Fogle of Backyard Custom Rods (has done a lot of work for guys over on tidalfish). This thing came out gorgeous and better than what I expected! You can really tell that Steve enjoys his work, not only from the hours he will talk to you about building/fishing, but through his craftsmanship, promptness and attention to detail. Not to mention that he is more than fair on his cost. Great experience and what a great rod!

I'm a firm believer of supporting local as much as possible from lures to accessories to rods. Pumped to put a bow in this thing!

And a big thanks to John Veil (J.A. Veil) for turning me onto his work! I'm sure there are a few here that have a Fogle custom as well.

    If anyone is ever interested...

The rod looks great. I hope it is a good big fish catcher.

Can't wait to christen this thing at PLO for the meet and greet! Heard a couple reports of some bigger fish in the mix down that way

Steve makes an excellent LTJ stick! I had him turn one for me over the summer and I am very pleased with it! Steve's great and will work with your requirements, no matter how intricate (anal) they are... believe me I know!
        Used to fish more.

Steve had a booth at the kayak fishing flea market organized by medicyaker last winter. I have known Steve for many years, and encouraged him to display his products there. He seemed pretty disappointed at the end of the show because he had not sold any on-hand merchandise or taken any orders that day. I am pleased that Redfish12 and camelbird have since ordered rods from Steve. He makes an attractive and good quality rod and will customize features for you. Plus he is a nice guy.
