rack for 2002 grand prix?

So i want to buy a roof rack for my car to hold i guess a kayak rack? Im a noob at this and wondering are they all universal racks or do I need a special brand for my car and then i guess i need 2nd rack a "kayak rack" to connect to car rack?

You might be able to find a cross rack and then purchase some J hook racks online. Or do the cheap thing like I did and buy a Yakima foam block kit. I would assume that the cheapest would be around $300ish cross rack and $180 for the j hooks. Or $35 for the foam block kit

I have a set of these for my honda accord and they hold my 12" Perception without any problems. I have done 70-75MPH and it doesn't move. Just make sure you do the bow and stern tie down.
