Where to go this weekend (2/19)?

Anything worth hitting this weekend? I was to go cod fishing in Montauk this weekend, but they are calling for 40kn, 5-9's. 5-9's are doable but 40kn will make any cod man shiver.
So I have the preverbial golden ticket, A free pass from the wife to go fishing and we all know that can never be squandered.
Any suggestions for this weekend. I was just about to drive my normal 8 hours to Montauk, so I am willing to drive, say 3ish. Ditch? Flats? Bay? or stay home and tie more bucktails?

The bluefin bite off hatteras could be good right now, you might want to check that out. i know there are some boats that do open charters down there this time of year. superb opportunity to do some HTJ (heavy tackle jigging) for some real trophy fish.

if you have enough frequent flyer miles.... my buddys just got back from running their boat to chub cay in the bahamas. In two days they released 3 blue marlin 1 white, caught a couple 40# range yellowfin and a couple gaffer dolphin.

Good suggestion but I thinking a little closer and one that involved a kayak.
