I think we're going to have a hard time competing, but it would be fun. Maybe if we have enough involvement we could push for a mid-atlantic version. Even then the VA beach and ocean front guys would have an advantage. I guess we're going to need to do some traveling guys.

I always say this but I wish the bay had the diversity of species that it once did... we should be able to catch speckled trout, redfish, weakfish, flounder, etc here. Those days seem like they are long gone for now.

I'm signed up as Chesapeake Bay Kayak Anglers. I think you can have upto 5 on a team and they will group for you, so we can just sign up and then ask them to group us or leave it how they set it.

Total inches looked like an interesting way to compete, so maybe I can get some of those exotic fish from J-Bay this year and help that. A few trophies could help and at least we have a decent shot at a big rock here.

Yeah man, those things don't quit. They won't open their chompers for a gripper but if you try to grab them behind the gills and they see your fingers then they will. Can't wait!

Been going through the rules and wanted to verify some things. Each team in a division is entered in three different competitions, Total inches, salt water fish points and freshwater fish points. For Totals Inches category, they take each angler's longest fish of each species (fresh and salt), and add them all up for each team, and for the freshwater and saltwater, its all based on the points system. There are monthly submission limits for each species on a team, around 50 for most species it seems. When we exceed the 5 max members, our teams will get split into Divisions that they or we can choose, so people can continue signing up. Did I miss or mis-interpret anything?

Yeah TJ that all sounds about right. I think depending on how we get grouped we can ask to be moved around, CBKA 1 CBKA 2 etc. Not sure if it makes more sense to be paired with guys you fish with or with guys in other locations for diversity of species, but I figure we all have access to the same waters so it shouldn't make too big of a difference species-wise. I plan on spending some time trying to get more species diversity this year. We'll see how that goes...
