  • Deck Bag

Not sure if anyone would want one of these but it's a great deal. I have a dry bag with a daisey chain that I use, but I could see how this would be useful.

yeah i realized after I posted it that it was only good for that day... it was one of those deck bags that you strap on the front of your kayak that has bungees and a daisy chain on it. Here's the permalink but no longer on sale for 25 bucks.

ive thought about using deck bags for gear and a bow deck bag for fish, but i keep not pullng the trigger bc i like having nothing on the deck and it makes me bring less crap on the kayak.

Yeah... my crate lets me bring way too much stuff as is. I thought it might be ok as a fish bag, but seems like a waste to destroy it. It might be more useful on a SIK though.

Seems like you have your gear situation more dialed in though. For some reason I feel like I'm always wanting to try and catch fish on different tackle even thought I know what's working. This year I want to try and vertical jig more around the pilings. I need to spend more time at the bridge instead of searching all over again.

one thing i did late last year was decide on how and what i was fishing for. specific targets. so basically i took the tackle needed for what i was going for and barely anything else. led to a few skunks....

Those would be tough to access for tackle storage. They have them at the store. I use a standard waterproof/resistant tackle bag that just sits on the front deck. It has not yet fallen off. I only keep crankbaits in that in order to keep it light. All other tackle goes in the crate, in plano waterproof boxes. I too, take much too much tackle with me, but at times it has saved my day.
