  • Foul Weather Gear

West Marine is having quite a sale on apparel. Any of the items on clearance has an additional 30% off. Included in this, I noticed was some nice foul weather gear that may work for kayaking. Included is som Puma splash gear that even has a neoprene seal around the waist. I don't mean to seem like I am advertising for West Marine, but kayakers need a deal too. Example, the Puma splash tops were around $250, they are now around $87. There is another, which was $160 and is now around $35. I should have written here earlier as some of the brighter colors, which are good for kayaking, are gone. However, there are quite a few stores in the area, they may have more of the brighter colors. Some of the more popular sizes are already gone. I know if there were more XXL, I would get one of the splash tops. This includes some T-Shirts and all clearance apparel.

Like I said, don't mean to seem like I am advertising for West Marine, but there are some deals to be had. Why shouldn't members on the forum benefit.? Hope this helps.

Hey Dogfish - Thanks for posting the information! I'm far from that area and wouldn't want to make a trip out there if they didn't have one in the size I'm looking for... think you could help me out? What is the smallest size they have in the cheaper one? I need one for my girlfriend... so a small or something not too big would be great.

Let me know if you know, otherwise I can probably just call the store.

      Thanks!
      Used to fish more.

I am off work today, Monday, but I will look when I go to work on Tuesday. There were some smalls. Alot of those deals went this weekend. More and more boaters are comming into the store, with the weather breaking. Even the Columbia light weight fishing shirts are on sale. There are some really good deals on apparel. Like I said the XXLs went fast, or I would have gotten some foul weather gear myself. I like the seal on the bottom of the Pumas. They are making room for the new spring stuff.

Thanks Memory. I have one Henry Lloyd, regular type foul weather jacket, bright yellow. I just wanted one with the neoprene at the bottom to seal against my waders. I like the optic green color of the Puma. I know the XXLs are a bit tight. Too bad they don't make XXXL for we larger guys. They are cut small. Then again, I might be getting larger myself. Everyone at the store also says they are cut small and goes to a larger size.

Hey Memory, were a little like Vin Diesel, XXX.

Redfish: There are a couple smalls, made by Gill and Henry Lloyd. One type is a typical zip up foul weather jacket (HL) and the other is a pullover (Gill). The pullover is a type with the neoprene on the bottom. The pullover colors, which are now left are in a carbon color, black, or in a light gray color. The regular jacket type is in carbon, black. All of the bright colors are pretty much gone except for two Puma regualr type jackets which are in large. There may be a medium in the pull over type. I am working from 8-4:00 today if you need to call the store on Hillsmere Drive, and I will check for you, if need be.

Yes, there are splash tops left, in black and light gray. As of yesterday, there were s, m, l, xl and I thing there was one XXL in gray. What I call light gray is light enough to call an off white. Most of what is left are the splash tops by Gill. They have the neoprene seal around the bottom and seals at the cuffs and neck.
