  • Beverly-Triton Beach Park Update

It was nice to meet some of you on the beach at Beverly-Triton Beach Park last Sunday.

    Beverly-Triton Beach Park update:

The park is now open 7 days a week. (It used to be closed on Tuesdays.) You do not need a permit of any kind or pay any fee to walk or drive into the park. You can drive down to the turn around area by the beach and unload your boat and gear. You can either park outside the park fence in the roadside lot or inside the park on the gravel between the fence and the portapotty enclosure. People who bought the NOW ELIMINATED $75/calendar year 2013 permit to drive into Beverly-Triton Beach Park can park along the wooden fence near the beach until those permits expire at the end of 2013. Beginning in 2014 that fence area will be for loading and unloading only and no one can park there.

The park is lousy with deer and the county runs a few managed deer hunts there. The park gates are locked during deer hunts. Mind the deer hunt schedule, especially if you're paddling into the park.

I wish I'd taken a picture of that deliriously happy brown dog that came in on a fishing kayak.

    See you on the water.

    Lisa

I think I saw that dog on Friday. Looked like a Chocolate Lab but only about half the size. He was very energetic and friendly, even gave me a stick to throw for him. The fellow that owns the dog I saw lives down the beach and fishes his kayak there frequently so that might have been them.

Excellent place to launch there Lisa. How was the fishing Sunday?

Nice pics... it looks so baron now that summer has passed.

Thanks again Ms. Lisa... I really appreciate the hard work your group has done and doing.

I look forward to a Shady Side... aka Hogswarth, adventure. You guys/gals did a great job
at the Home Port launch, I had a lot of fun this fall launching there. It is definitely a launch
that has great rewards for those that like the road less traveled.

I hadn't posted this/these links/reports before... but I think you and some of your friends
        might enjoy them.

        Thanks again... Rob.. aka rob-kayak
