If the wind forecast holds, I may go try the Calvert Cliffs Power Plant discharge for some stripers on Friday. I'm picking a weekday rather than a weekend, because the place can get crowded with boats (and by that I mean 4 or 5 boats, but in that small an area, that's crowded). Anybody interested/able? Would rather not go alone, but I will if I have to.

I'd be there with you if I didn't have to head to Long Island, N.Y. for a wedding. One question, where do you plan to launch from? I've never fished that area in a kayak.*********************************

If that is the same beach launch that SurfDog an I checked out one or two years ago, then that will be a hard hall. You are at the top of a cliff with a very steep winding narrow slope to get down to the beach. The next thing is it looks like it will be a struggle to then pull a yak back up that long steep hill. I would pass on that launch location unless I have a yak that I can throw on my shoulders.

Long Beach, the nearest town 2 miles north. However, all waterfront property including the small marina and beach you can see on google maps is private. I knew someone there who was kind enough to let me park in his driveway while fishing. Unless you know someone (or rent out one of the small homes for a couple days--something I very well may do when back in the states in February) you're SOL...and might get towed. There really is nowhere to safely hide a car on the narrow residential roads.
If you can manage Flag Ponds on a weekday, you could be in for something special (though quite honestly we caught the bigger fish in the dead of winter when the water temps were consistently very cold).

FYI
You might want to contact Battle Creek Nature Center and see if you can get permission to drop off your yak at the handicap parking by the beach.
