What's Your Knot?

Trying to find a good knot for attaching leader to braid. Don't know how many times my fat knot screws up my cast from getting caught on the rod guides.
Most of the time, I only reel in the line up to where the leader reaches the tip of the rod. Or if I'm casting crankbaits or plugs, I'll even leave the leader off.

Then about a week ago, I found a YT video entitled, "The STRONGEST & SMALLEST braid to leader knot ever created".
I checked it out, and tried the knot, but either this guy is full of it or I'm doing it wrong because it always slips out on me.

So I'm coming to you all for advice.

Is this a good knot?
Can you tie it so it holds?
Do you know of a better knot?

I use a back to back "Uni Knot".

I have heard that the "Albright Knot" is better but I can tie a Uni Knot blindfolded in a freezing rain storm.

I'm a fan of the albright. It's my go-to for line to line. Easy to tie, haven't had one fail me yet.

thats the fg knot. a lot of offshore guys use that knot and yes, its pretty strong.

you might also want to look at the reverse albright, also strong and easier to tie

I also use the uni to uni. Plenty strong and pretty easy to tie. I don't seem to have any problems with it. Maybe I'll try one of those others in the future.

This is why I don't like leaders...

I use uni to uni when I do tie one on, but that is not very often and I have to look up how to do it.

The FG reminds me of a Bimini twist around a the piece of leader material. I keep it simple while out on the water, triple surgeon. I also, as with others, like the uni-uni knot. However, that FG would be smooth.

After several attempts over the past couple of years I have given up on both the Albright and Alberto knots as too difficult to tie. I can do a fair job with both under laboratory conditions (aka: kitchen table) but not so much out on the water.

Instead, I rely solely on the uni-uni knot to attach mono to braid... BUT, I have replaced all the tip guides that are too small with bigger guides that will comfortably past a uni-uni knot without dinging. BTW, I'm using 14# Fireline and 20# floro when fishing for stripers and 8# Fireline and 14# mono for bass and pickerel fishing.

For lighter weight applications, I've been using a simple surgeon's knot with great success. Usually I'll tie a short fluoro or mono leader onto braid. I like the knot for its ease of use.
