That may not take that long to melt. Most of that looks like ice flows stopped up by the bridge.

At least it does not look like the winter of 1977. I remember that one.

Driving down 895 every day, the patapsco is a block of ice in the river. I was going to swing by harbor hospital to see how solid it was but traffic was so bad this morning I was already behind schedule.

It takes longer for the ice to melt than it did to freeze up. It might warm up a bit but the water is still frickin cold!

I drove around Annapolis today. Annapolis harbor is pretty much iced up except near the Eastport bridge and around some of the piers and marinas. Truxton Park ramp is not usable -- it is fully iced in. Both College Creek and Weems Creek are iced in except near bridge pilings and piers where boat owners have ice eaters running.

If I needed a fishing fix near Annapolis, I would look for some free-flowing freshwater streams and cast from a bridge or bank. I would not have great expectations but who knows unless you try.
