I have a matched pair of 6500's that I have had for many years- they have caught a ton of grey trout behind the third island of the CBBT and are in great shape for twenty year old reels- tough, durable good value reel- kinda old reel technology but still in production and nothing wrong with tried and proven- great general purpose reel-

Great Choice! I have 2 6500 C3's one of which is over 15 years old. These reels are built to last and should provide you with years of service with minimal maintenance.

Medicyaker helped me out a lot today at Bass Pro so a big thanks to him. Stuck to my original plan and got the 2 abu gaarcia 6500's and 2 MH ugly sticks. Of course it didnt stop there and $430 later I left with more then I intended too. Picked up power pro braid to go on the new reels, a few xraps, and a new paddle leash. All I need now is some nice weather, oh yeah and my fishing liscense.
