  • Key Bridge warm water discharge Sunday

I have been hearing about and seeing pics of some GIANT 40" +++ Stripers while talking to other Anglers while working at Basspro. I am strongly considering hitting this area Sunday(tomorrow) . Anyone up for some Cow Fishing??? Thinking about early afternoon... Its been a stressful week and need to destress!!

I wish I could've go..but I'm working sunday-thursday unfortunately . I went to ocean city yesterday but I haven't seen anyone fishing there or around bay bridge area. The water was nice and calm, perfect for fishing but I think the water is still under 50° . I'll try to take my kayak out next Friday hopefully is gonna see water for the first time. Anyone wants to join?

I am going to guess that they got bigger. I received a voicemail from Yak Fish earlier in the day....I have NEVER heard a grown man more excited!!!! He had to cut it short due to "FISH ON"

Grown man was super happy today. If you turned down my invite to fish today...here's what you missed. Funny enough, they weren't actually at the WWD. The WWD itself was really warm but I only caught small ones there. Made sense since no boats were there either. The bigger ones were on drop offs where I found pods of shad. If you find shad, you find stripers. I'd see huge pods of shad then a bigger mark outside them. That's what I was looking for.

DNR was there and checked me out. Told me some good spots to try and wanted to buy a yak like mine. They had some fish on board from people who illegally kept them. There may have been 10 boats there and they caught 3 people keeping fish....

Most were about 30" plus or minus.

Can't tell from the picture. What kind of spinning rod and reel set ups are you using?

The fish were all around...wherever there were shad were stripers. I covered a lot of water today following the shad, trolling lures. Talked to a guy fishing the bridge and they were there as well. The water I fished was 40 degrees which was the same temp at the launch. Like I said, there were no boats at the discharge itself. I tried there, but only a couple of small fish so I didn't stick around too long. Went back to trolling and back to catching fish. I'm thinking the warm weather this weekend got the fish active and spread them out. I stopped trolling halfway back to the launch and was still catching fish. I was losing light so I pulled up the lines to high tail it home.

Great report. Congratulations on the fine catches. I'm pleased to hear that DNR is out there checking on fishing compliance.
