  • kayak covers?

So with my recent purchase of a pro angler 12 that I have yet to pick up I am trying to see if you guys know of any covers I can put on the kayak. Unfortunately I will be storing this on my complexes kayak rack which makes me nervous as hell in terms of thieves and the amount of money I just dropped on it. I have a kryptonite cable lock and I want to also get a cover and maybe another lock to help deter anyone from stealing my new PA. I have heard that tarps can build heat and do damage to the kayak. Is there any cover that prevents this and do you guys know of any locks that are better then just a kryptonite chain? I am just hoping a cover will keep people from seeing the gold thats underneath it.

Did you just pick it up today at Backyard Boat. I was there and Dennis said he just sold one. I bought my covers too keep the squirrels out they where chewing on certain parts of boat there white so they don't create the heat. I ordered mine through Backyard boats they fit nice.

any ideas? I am driving myself crazy trying to find a solution. I am seeing polyester material and canvas covers for boats that I might try but does anyone know if they will trap in the heat or will they be fine for the kayak. Any recommendations would be great. The only thing I am seeing is that a tarp will trap heat and is not good for the hull but I am not finding much on what materials that are safe to use.
