Were we seeing the plastic weld or the 5200 in that second pic? 5200 is amazing stuff. I've heard debates over whether the name implies that it costs $5200/gallon or it takes washing your hands 5200 times to get it off. Either way, in the correct application it isn't going anywhere.

Yes, that is the PL5200. I put a nitrile glove on and kept moving it to the top of the plastic and letting it run down. It it fully coated. I wasn't concerned with the looks, just getting it completely covered. I ordered a 3oz tube for $12 on Amazon. You only get one use from it. Once the tube is open, it says you have 24 hours to use it. I used about half the tube.
That doesn't seen too expensive for small jobs. Especially if it does the trick.
Does the PL5200 stay somewhat flexible?
Looking forward to hearing your update in 7 days.
Yes it does. I believe 5200 is rated for use below the waterline. It is often used to seal thru-hull fittings on sail and power boats. It is also good for filling predrilled holes in fiberglass before placing a screw as it will help to limit the amount of water allowed to penetrate the substrate.
Yippeeee, no leak today. The plastic weld and PL5200 did the trick. I checked it repeatedly while I was out. I finally had some water trickle in front the front hatch, but that was it. Chop was breaking over the bow and spraying me on the way back to the launch. I need to add some tubing to front hatch, but at least the crack is fixed. Thanks for all the tips and advice guys.
