The outflow of the power plant can be very strong. It creates a strong current and depending on wind / tide, can create very high standing waves. Add to that the multitude of boats that are bound to show up in that small area when the fish are there, and you've got some not so friendly kayak conditions.

Note that this thread is over a year old and the bite at the power plant is probably NOT hot right now

Errr yeah. After calibration, this thread is 6 months old.Originally posted by Cowpokey View PostYou must have an uncalibrated calendar. I see the first post was April 7, 2014. LOL
Still, don't count on the bite being hot at the power plant just yet.

Thank you!Originally posted by buzz View PostThe closest launch I know of is Flag Ponds Nature Park. Puts you in the Bay about 3/4 mile north of the power plant.
If you are heading south on Rt 4, Flag Ponds Pkwy is 2.9 miles past Ball Rd., St. Leonard.
If you're heading north on Rt 4, its 0.8 miles past the main entrance to the power plant.
After you park you have at least a half mile drag down to the beach. Can be a bit of workout, especially the return trip.
Here's a video Jeff Little posted from spring of 2013.
