I've had numerous PM's with questions about where my photos were taken that I had posted in my "for sale" ad, so I figured I'd make a separate post. The area pictured is on the Susquehanna within the Conowingo reservoir, which is the area between Holtwood Dam and Conowingo Dam. Both Maryland and Pennsylvania fishing licenses are honored on the waters between the two dams. The photos are all from a trip there last fall. We launched from a ramp off of River Rd just below the Rt. 372 bridge. It's a beautiful area to paddle and fish, as long as holtwood is not heavily flowing, then it can get pretty swift through all the cuts between the rocks and islands. Lots of little smallmouth to be caught, and I'm sure a few larger ones that just happen to have eluded me. Not sure if I'd want anything extending below the bottom of my boat while exploring there, I scraped unexpectedly several times on rocks just below the surface and out of view. Great little spot for some recreational paddling along with some decent fishing.

I've fished from shore along there and the terrain is insane. Water is full of crayfish and sunnies. I've heard the sirens from the dam before during the summer but didn't see the water rise too much. I understand it happens every day during the hot summer as everyone's AC kicks on. If you use Google earth you can see some amazing flooding through the area.PigPen - Mt Airy

That boat launch is owned and operated by the PA Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and requires that your canoe/kayak have a "PFBC launch use permit, OR boat registration, OR Pennsylvania State Parks launch permit OR mooring permit. Pennsylvania State Parks recognizes PFBC boat registrations and launch permits"

If i remember correctly, the area we launched from had an Excelon sign. I thinl there are 2 parks/ ramps on river rd there. Perhaps I marked the wrong one on the map link.
