Had a good morning. Only had a couple of hours to spend. Got on the water around 730. My Hobie leak repair is still curing, so the big purple machine was my ride. Got a decent paddle in and then anchored where I thought the channel should be. No fish finder yet. Thanks to Kevin for a map of the area, I was close. First cat was small, the next 3 were bigger. I love setting the hook and the rod tip stays down. I picked up a plastic 55 gallon drum too. Score for my blueberry bushes. Only one jack@$$ in a bass boat blew by me at full speed within 30 yards.

Great morning. Left at 1015 to do the family thing. I was using blood stink bait. Horrendous smelling paste, but it works.

Nice fish! All fish with a forked tail are strong fighters.

Nice! Is that first one a channel or bullhead, can't really tell from the pic. Doesn't look like a blue.

I'd be lying if I said one way or the other. In the boat, the one in the air looked almost white. I thought it was albino. The picture gives it more color.

The head doesn't quite look broad enough to be a white cat, that's why I was thinking bullhead (yellow) or a channel. Either way, good fishing!

first definitely a channel cat. I never have caught one on that side of the river.
Glad you had some action. A tandem floating high and dry was probably a good boat for today.

It was pretty calm this morning. Thanks again Kevin for sharing your knowledge.

Same anchor, just more line like you said. Solid.

yeah.....greater that 45 degree angle and those folding anchors don't grab.
Your pics confirm my belief that Blue catfish are the most interesting fish to photograph......how can a fish look so odd and so muscular at the same time...and the eyes are so comic
