I recently retired from the Marine Corps and would like to get in to kayak fishing. I don't have a clue; but I'm open to all ideas to start a new hobby. Thanks for any input that can be provided. Semper Fi!!

1. What kind of water do you want to fish?
2. Where will you use it?
3. Where do you live? You can try other people kayaks or demo from a dealer.
4. Try many kayaks before guying one.
5. everyone is going to have a different idea on what kayak you need, but only you will be able to decide which one.
Once you get one practice safety stuff. Self rescue if in deep water, ect."If you can't have fun doing it, it ain't worth doing." ... or you're just doing it wrong.

I live in Upper Marlboro, Md and if you want to meet some where we could. I just bought a Native slayer propel and will be going out soon. I have a Cobra Explorer you can use for an outing, and you can try out my slayer to get an idea of those types of kayaks, which are sit-on-top. Maybe a bunch of us can go out soon.Peggy
