  • Susky flats Footage 4/27/2014

Okay, my first attempt at some video editing...not the greatest piece of work. A few stripers on the flats, not too big...not too small

You are a brave man to lip that first big fish with no grip and a pair of trebles close by! Nice stuff man. I like the music with it.

Thank you for the compliments. I think its only viewable on a computer...still new to posting videos. I think its because of the song copyright issues??

Nice. I just bought an old Zx5 off of Grilled. How did you mount it? Did you just leave it running the whole time? How'd the batteries hold up?

I almost bought that camera off of Grilled, but I hesitated because the battery is not removable...the Zx3's batteries are removable. I have a piece of electrical conduit in my sail mast hole, then 90s towards the bow, then 90s up about 8 inches above the kayak surface. Then I rigged a 1/4 x 20 bolt and mounted the camera to the threaded hole provided at the base of the camera.

I leave the camera running at all times framed @ 720p. My batteries last 1.5 hours each, I hear an audible beep and a red light stops blinking...that's when I know to change the battery. I also have a remote that I purchased for $15, but it is 50/50 reliable when I am pressing commands. I am not a camera guru, but I like it...seems to record well...but I wish the lens had more degrees of view available.

I purchased a fish eye attachment that installs magnetically to the lens housing. One wave over the bow and the susky claimed it in a matter of minutes. Oh well, live and learn. I will upgrade to a gopro eventually just to get some nice hero photos on a delay, but my funds are better spent on my bills right now.
