Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge

6.4 inches of rain in Clarksville, MD over the last 2 days. WSSC has the flood gates open at Rocky Gorge and Triadelphia. The Patuxent between the 2 reservoirs is over the banks and roaring like I've never seen before. I had to turn around 4 different times on my way home from work due to flooded roads and bridges underwater. The MD Route 108 bridge between Ashton and Highland was about 2 feet away from being submerged. Crazy amounts of water in all the creeks and streams. The Northwest Park Golf Course was flooded as well as I drove home.

I'm sure the top ends of both Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge are flooded and muddy. Can't imagine what Browns Bridge looks like today. Maybe I'll take a photo of it on my way home.

I bet the water is high and muddy all over the lake. Time to break out the spinners and spinnerbaits and firetiger lures

X2 on pics. We'll still give it a try this weekend. Got my spinner tying supplies out last night, need some hot yellow blades, hopefully they have them on the shelf at BPS, going to run by there at lunch. I'll pick up a couple fire tiger plugs too, just to be safe.

My guess is that water clarity near the dams and lower portion of the reservoirs might be ok. The top ends of the reservoirs will look like chocolate milk and tips of branch arms with creeks will also be dirty. I'll try and take some photos this evening and Friday morning.
An insane amount of water was leaving Triadelphia and headed towards Browns Bridge.

As narrow as Rocky Gorge is, and with all of the arms it has, the whole reservoir will probably be dirty. Factor in all of the water rolling down the river from Tridelphia, it's going to be interesting.

The water clarity in the lakes always seems pretty bad. The one exception was back in 2010 when we had that long drought.

I stopped by BPS at lunch, looking for some chartreuse/hot yellow colorado blades and bottom bouncers...no love. They only have silver and bronze (brass) blades, and no bottom bouncers. So I ordered blades from Jann's Net Craft, and "bait walker" weights from the manufacturer. I did pick up some fire tiger (color) plugs though. I've got (a bunch of) red, orange, green, blue, purple, black, red/white, silver and brass blades already; so I'll tie up some variations with double hooks for worm harnesses. I have a couple bottom bouncers and one bait walker, so just need to pick up some night crawlers and give it a go. We will be fishing Rocky Gorge this Saturday; probably launch from Scott's Cove and troll or drift (if windy) spinners/worms. See how that goes, and keep the plugs at the ready for casting to cover.

Cowpokey, I've bought all my bottom bouncers from the BassPro in Arundle Mills.

Here's what the top end of Rocky Gorge looked like at Browns Bridge yesterday on my way home from work.

Pretty dirty. I talked to one of the BPS sales guys about bottom bouncers, he said they quit carrying them here, have to go farther north. He thinks they have a better selection for walleye stuff at the Harrisburg store.

Wow, that's the boat ramp...right? Not only dirty, but the water is way higher than last weekend.

We lucked out here in the Catoction Mountains in northern Frederick County. At my house we got 3.5" of rain spread out over 2 days. Mountain creeks kicked up moderately high, no big deal.
