This is my first season fishing the tidal potomac and so far the skunk is on. I have a friend who is a local fly-fishing guide and his job is literally fishing the exact area you described with clients. If you have a twitter account he is worth following as his posts let you know whats going on moment by moment...its like having eyes on the water everyday from a very knowledgeable source.
I am going to fletchers saturday afternoon to chase some shad and scout out the area some on foot before i wet the kayak.
Let me know if you are interested in tagging along.
Jason
Friends name is rob snowwhite...google him to get his website and twitter information.

Jet, that's the closest fishing I have to home so I fish it after work when possible during the spring and fall. Summertime can be ok too but fall and spring are usually more productive. You planning on fishing over here?Used to fish more.

Got there (chainbridge)about 3:00, water high and green, caught a largemouth-15" on a beetlespin, had a decent fish on a plug, spit the hook out.Belly hooked a shad on a plug.I didn't see any schools of herring but they should be around.Saw a couple of flyfishermen and some bassfishermen.Really wanted to see what spit the plug out it did alot of head shaking and was peeling line.Going trout fishing Saturday at a stocked stream.Got to do your thing before it snows again LOL.
