  • Fish Finder set up (help please)

I am looking into rigging my kayak(ascend fs12t) with a fish finder. I am picking up the fish finder on tuesday but then I will need a transducer. Any help or advice on what transducer to get and what style would be greatly appreciated. I can either be reached on here or at 443-763-1066 Thanks!

New fish finders usually come with a transducer. Plus, we would need to know the make and model of what you are getting. Different brands aren't compatible with each other.

I am picking up a hummingbird from a guy in crofton. Since new ones come with the transducers, maybe Ill just wait a week or so and buy a new one. Thanks Ken!

Some the transducers can be EXPENSIVE and exceed any savings you made have accomplished by buying it without one.
I would price out the transducer before making that purchase. Seen several people make that mistake thinking they were getting a huge savings.

That would work. Check these out also. The first is a good starter FF and the mark 4 is a little bit more but has the chartplotter. Not sure what you budget is though.

Warranty is normally by the manufacturer, unless you're looking at an extended warranty though the retailer? That's one thing I've never done...the extended warranty, that is.

Regarding extended warranties, read before you buy.
You can't trust what the cashier or clerk tells you. And their word means nothing when it comes time to get them to honor the warranty.
