I live in West River. I have 4 yaks, all SI Old Towns. Mine is a Dirigo12 rigged. I do intend to venture into SOT but just have not gotten there yet. The quiet and serenity of yak fishing is fabulous.

WE now go to Topsail every other year for two weeks. The 19 foot carolina skiff and the yaks make for a diverse trip. Fishing the saltmarsh and isolated canals and creeks of the sound is so much fun.

I am watching the Hobie Mirage but who knows what Ill end up with.

Welcome aboard, and MrJ00G13, too! I fish Jug Bay myself, so if you are ever looking for an after 5pm fishing jaunt let me know. Just caught a mess of catfish there the other day. Personal best catfish at 19 inches. Let him go, but the water is clean enough that I coulda eaten him.
