  • anyone interested in fishing tomorrow - Friday ?

John Veil's post has renewed my interest in Mallows Bay. I have been wanting to go there for some time. I just haven't made my way down there yet.

Anyone care to join me? I'm thinking of leaving my house around 6:00 am. I'll probably stay most of the day.

    Laura -

I hope you have a successful day. I learned from Dan Marino's (Tom's) post a few days before mine that he had hooked fish using a Redfish magic spinnerbait. I had two of those and trimmed them with a white paddletail. That was my most successful lure, especially when fishing near the outer edge of the wreck field. If you don't have that lure, try some other large spinnerbait or a chatterbait that many of our members suggest.

When fishing closer to the trees at the shoreline, I had good success throwing a small spinnerbait (Woody's feather spinner or Bignose spinner). I look forward to your report.

I'd go if I didn't have to work. It looks like a very interesting place to fish. Good luck tomorrow!

Work always gets in the way of some good fishing time. I have had pretty good success there in the past on a brown chatterbait

I am normally not off on Fridays. I am taking off as I need a day to escape the rat race. I wont be getting up my usual early which is 3:30 am, but I will be getting up earlier than usual for a day off from work.

Oh, well, no takers means more fish for me.

I know it's not mallows, but I'm going to hit Rose Haven tomorrow morning ~7-7:30 am or so.

Trolling for rock, and maybe perching - It's little early in the year for spots and livelines
