  • Not fishing much

Sorry to all my fishing buds- I haven't been fishing much this year- between a total home re-model going on and rebuilding a 40 year old Aquasport 170, my fishing time has been just a few quick trips to southern Maryland waters- almost always alone- Hopefully, the re-modeling of my house will be complete in July, although nothing has been on schedule to date, they are finally making some decent progress. That has put my work on the boat on hold so nothing to report other than to say I have bought 90% of everything I need to finish rebuilding the Aquasport 170, good used 2 stroke Yamaha 75 HP motor, new electronics, batteries, binnacle controls, NFB Teleflex steering system, 6 gallons of the epoxy resin, glass cloth, marine plywood for floor lamination, etc. included. I have had two out of state fishing trips while on business trips- one to Portland, Oregon in April for King Salmon on the Columbia River and just last week one to Orange Beach, Alabama for red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico. Both were great fishing-

Well, two great trips among your various obligations and projects is pretty good.

Congrats on your OR and AL outings.

I've been trying local waters regularly and doing marginally at best.

I keep waiting for the white perch to arrive in size and numbers and wondering when members of that impressive 2011 class of stripers will find my lures.

I was wondering where you were. Glad to hear from you. I look forward to those Southern Maryland reports. I have a new truck this year, so I intend to range out a little more. So keep us up to date when you do go fishing.

      Good luck Ron.

I'm glad it's just construction keeping you off the water and not something more serious, like a hole in the kayak. Hope to see you out there soon.
