Have any of you guys put yaks in at Fletcher's before? I was wondering if you parked in the upper lot and carried over the canal, or went thru the tunnel to the lower lot. Will an SUV with the yak on racks even fit thru there? Not sure I'd want to try it with my barge, especially the return trip.

The tunnel under the canal is only 7 ft tall so any roof top transports must be under 7ft. How is the water level there now? There is some wicked current flowing Thur that section of the river.

Current was hauling butt Thursday, but the guys in row boats weren't having any trouble. USGS had predicted over 5.5' for Sunday, but they just lowered it to 4.5. Guess they didn't get the predicted rain upstream. Report from yesterday says the herring have picked up, we only managed 2 on Thursday jigging 2 sabiki rigs all morning. A live 8" herring is the ticket for a striper.

I am glad you guys are going to get out. It is suppose to be a great day. I cannot go since I got some repairs at home to finish. Send in a report when you guys get back. If my plans change then I will give you a call. Are you guys going on your yak or are you renting boats?

Hit the shad pretty good this Sunday. Not on yak, but foot. Never really sure if my yak will fit in that tunnel, plus I was catching plenty.
