        Yep it was still alive. I probably saved that fishes life that day.
        Well at least till it went in the cooler and became dinner that night

          Fishing years ago as a kid snagged a rod and reel in Indian River bay. On the other of that rod was a 22 inch flounder.

            I snagged a duck once. It started flying away too, but I got my rod back.

                A couple years ago I got someone else's line that was hanging down from a tree. I cut it off as high as I cold reach then started pulling the other end in when it started pulling back. Had a 16" catfish at the other end.
                Just a couple week ago I snagged a beaver. Or more accurately he snagged my line and I did what I could to avoid hooking him but no luck. You might have thought I'd hooked an F250, there was nothing my rod and reel could do to even slow him.
