    Moving To Maryland

    Hi Everyone,

    I'm moving to Maryland at the end of this week the Waldorf area to be exact. This is my first year Kayak fishing, I bought a Jackson Cuda12 back in May. I'm really enjoying the sport, I currently live in VA Beach and enjoy fishing the Chesapeake and it's inlets down here. I've never fished in Maryland before, I know you have a lot of striper in the upper bay. What are some of the other fish that you all target in that part of the bay? I've also entered the fishing tournament in September, looking forward to meeting new people who enjoy the sport too.

          You'll be down near my neck of the woods. Besides the striper we catch white perch, croaker, spot, flounder, speckled trout and redfish. Hope to see ya on the water!

                  What guns? , It sounds like pretty much the same as we get down here in VB. I didn't realize the reds went that far up.
                  COWPOKEY: Are you at Andrews AFB too?
                  CODY: Maybe once I get settled we could me up for some fishing, does the forum ever do any meet ups?

                    They do but I'm not sure if they do around here. Also the reds come up this far but in far less number. I've only caught a handful but they are around. Usually around late July through August

                      Welcome to Maryland and this great website, FL Boy! I'm in your neck of the woods and an Air Force veteran. You've hooked on to a great group of people who are willing to share technique and fishing holes. Looking forward to fishing with you.

                        Cody, where do you launch out of for the bay? I was looking at Chesapeake Beach for the closest place to Waldorf.

                            I actually live down in Hollywood and have never taken the kayak into the bay. I'm still a rookie and am not sure about launch sites and what not. I'd love to make a trip into the bay. Right now I fish the Pax, Potomac, and St. Mary's rivers and the different tributaries in them
