Folks,
Today Mark and I had a couple of unusual activities/sights out on Whitehall Bay. Mark I'm sure will post a thread on the most unusual happening . . . complete with pictures. The second odd thing that I saw was when I was by myself. I saw a white circle sort of thing, almost like a bagel, swimming towards shore making a small wake. I was sure it wasn't a fish, and it was way too small to be a muskrat or a beaver. Curious, I followed it to the rip rap. Much to my surprise it was a fairly large water snake (5' X 3" dia.) with what I'm pretty sure was an eel in it's mouth! There was lots of slithering and twisting going on in the rip rap but it looked like the snake was winning. Apparently, the snake must have dove down and caught the eel and swam him to land for dinner - pretty cool - you don't see that every day.
