I am planning on checking out the Pocomoke Sound in southern Somerset County at the end of this month. I do not know if anyone has fished there before. I am looking to see if anyone has any advice for me. What kind of fish that I am most likely to encounter? Where are the most productive places to fish or areas to avoid. Any info will be appreciated.

Moc, get a general idea of where you want to go and I'll help you out with launch points, places to target, etc. Its all fishy area. Lots of grass flats and miles and miles of water to cover. Saxis has a nice launch, so does Guard Shore (see Guard Shore Rd, VA). Further south you have Onancock Creek which give you access to the bay. Right now, it seems like schoolie stripers are the main fish. I went around the Guard Shore area last Sunday and managed a few 16-18 inch stripers on topwater and one short speck. The wind was brutal and the water dirty in places, so it may not be the best sample of what is there. Pups are also being reported, but are spotty. You'll want to pick a day with relatively low winds. Anything with West in it more than 12-15 mph will make spending the entire day out there somewhat annoying. Send me a PM when you narrow it down a little.___________________________
