  • My first jump

Not a fishing story. But it is another challenge some of us may enjoy.

My two boys were certified. And they've been encouraged me jump so that when we get together one day we will go together.
My neighbor kids (learned fishing by me came back from colleges for the summer) and I decided to jump.

I love the free fall part a lot. I found that I wasn't quite ready for the multiple spirals after chute was open. I asked for spirals and the operator showed me how it was like spinning while descending:

I shortened the original video done by a videographer:

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, video, still photos

Not only can an old lady fish, she can jump out of a plane. I know, hard to believe, eh?

This was a treat to watch. Never, ever, ever was my stance on skydiving. You may have just changed my mind. Thank you for posting this, and congratulations on your dive!

Wow, it looked fun watching. I'll keep my feet on the ground and appreciate your experience though.

My wife has over 8000 hrs in the Twin Otter. I flew it some but never had the urge to jump out of one.

                Congratulations!

                  AWESOME!!! You rock!

I got certified back in the 90's but I let it lapse in the last few years. I would have to do a re-certification jump if I went again.
I love skydiving. Its an incredible feeling... its very empowering. Diving exits make you feel like Superman, and once you've landed back on the ground you feel like there is nothing you can't do. My favorite thing is tracking during freefall.

                  Great jump Joe.

What spirit, Joe! I was certified years ago when I was much younger. Did five free fall jumps from a DeHavilland at 10K feet. We were all yeah-yeah gun-ho on the first jump. On the second jump trip, my spirit dropped as the plane climbed. I felt like I didn't want to do it anymore. The worst part was when the plane reached altitude, and we waited for the jumpmaster to call us forward to the door, one by one. Then he'd say, "Stand in the door." My stomach didn't feel well, but I didn't want to chicken out. My problem on the free fall was spinning, but I later corrected that on later jumps. Would I do it again?...........I don't think so....lol......

Cool dude...although I'm gonna keep my feet in the water. I think I'd have a heart attack. I never met anyone that regretted taking the jump

Didn't look like he needed a paddle. He has hand rolls down!
