Pretty innovative. May have to give that a try. I have some chicken wire that could be painted that might work. Add some hooks for catfish too. I wonder if this trap could be raided by stripers? Might be odd looking at a pile of legs in the loops.PigPen - Mt Airy

Legal in MD? I'm guessing no? I think legal traps have to be in an open state until they are pulled up. In this trap, the snare could close while on the bottom, trapping a crab (if it works as advertised).
As for if it works well.... Maybe this is one of those "doesn't seem like it would work well, but it does" things.Chris

Snares are not listed as lawful gear. If DNR catches you with one of these snares you could be looking at a $500 fine.
