It is the year for going on vacation to Smith Mountain Lake. Getting things packed in stages. A few stages thus far. Ill share a few more stages of the Sount County Hillbillies trip when ready to go.

My bearings are checked and repacked/replaced every two years. Sparebearings and tire yes, hydraulic piston jack, wood blocks, work gloves and old comforter for laying or kneeling on if needed.

It is larger than DCL. I have never been to DCL. Wife has been there and says SML is larger.

Deep creek lake, 12 miles long, crowded.

Smith mountain, 40 miles long.

SML NOT CROWDED. Especially down in the Dam area where we always stay.

Yes Peggy, I am a Scorpio. Now Optimus Prime is hitched up ready to go.

And then I have a 19 foot runabout rented there already for 2 weeks for tubing and skiing. After going up for 6 years we know what it takes to have a good time.

Pretty much ready. The new Propel will get a real dose of fresh water for the next two weeks. The SMB and LMB are already trembling. Stripers too.

Good luck! I was down there a few weekends ago and the lake was in great shape. I didn't have a chance to fish but from what I'm seeing from friends on facebook you should have a good shot at stripers!
