  • CHSP Plan on Sat, May 2, 2015

I prefer Sunday, but I am working on Sunday. As of now I don't work on Saturday. If I don't work on Saturday, I am heading for CHSP for tautog.

I am bringing 30 fresh shrimp for tautog bait and buck-tails for flounder.
Because of the strong wind, I will be wearing wader and splash proof jacket.
I may go to the outer wall if the inner wall doesn't produce.

Here is my plan based on the tides, current, and wind for Saturday:
    • 07:00 AM - Arrive at the parking lot
    • 07:45 AM - Launch (during high tide)
    • 08:00-09:00 AM - Flounder fishing at the pier (strong incoming tide)
    • 09:10-11:30 AM - Togging, bayside of the inner wall (Slack tide, NNE wind @12-15mph)
    • 11:30 AM -01:00 PM - Assess the wind. Wind will subside. (NE wind under 10MPH)
    • 01:00 PM - 02:30 PM - If the inner wall doesn't produce, head for the outer wall during the strong out-going tide.(02:10 PM - low tide)
    • 03:30 PM - 05:30 PM - slack tide (Should be OK at the outer wall)
    • 05:45 PM - Heading back with incoming tide
    • 06:45 PM - Arrive at the launch site (between low and high tide)

I just picked up crabs and shrimp. I may head out there, but still trying to decide between there or VA beach. Forecast looks a little better down that way.

I used to fight when I was young. Somehow I lost interest years ago when I started to feel pains.
D is coming. So, his wife said OK to D?
        I will see you there.

I thought about heading for VA beach. But I decided to hit CHSP because after May 9th, I will fishing in VA Beach until January.

I think I know why, and it starts with a "C."

I wouldn't mind going to CBBT tomorrow, but tog season is closed.

I should see you guys at CHSP tomorrow. My back-up is the channels.

Saw a small craft advisory from now until Sat morning.

                  For Sat:
NE WINDS 15 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KT...DIMINISHING
TO 10 TO 15 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 KT IN THE LATE MORNING AND
AFTERNOON. SEAS 4 TO 7 FT...

This marine forecast is out to 20 NM, but am concerned. Anyone out there now to see what CHSP is like?

Yeah, I'd like to get some big blues too. How are you guys yak- fishing for them? Soaking cut mullet while yak-sitting under azure skies? Deep or shallow?

CHSP Plan on Sat, May 2, 2015

Any advice for a first time trip to cape henlopen in a kayak?

I fished there off the beach and hit the walls with my boat. I was paranoid out there in the boat for fear off punching a hole in my boat on the rocks. We've never had what I would call an outstanding trip there. We would get skates, small sharks and small bluefish off the beach. We would get a few tog and some giant eels off the wall with skates as well.

We intend on hitting it Sunday.
