It was pinged 20 times off the Virginia Capes and twice inside the inlet in Wallops Island...I wouldn't worry about it- unless it surfaces along side your kayak...for some reason Great Whites seem fascinated by Kayaks...few real attacks, just curious- Cape Cod is the white shark hotspot with whites showing up in large numbers every year after the seals"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

Back in the day when I was sharking, we had a Great White in the chum slick off Virginia Beach (SE Lumps) threw every thing at it- no takes- big filets of marlin, whole bluefish, tuna heads- nothing- it cruised up on the surface within ten feet of the boat and looked at us with those big, black lifeless eyes- spooky stuff..."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

Sometimes that shark looks right at ya. Right into your eyes. And the thing about a shark is he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn't even seem to be livin'... 'til he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all your poundin' and your hollerin' those sharks come in and... they rip you to pieces. You know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men. I don't know how many sharks there were, maybe a thousand. I do know how many men, they averaged six an hour.Mike

you realize that the ping was from 2015 & the points are only locations where the shark surfaced & broadcast data. The lines are not indicatative of tracks. the same shark is now currently a ways off the SC coast.Last edited by dasher; 01-23-2017, 12:46 PM.Red 2015 Hobie Outback
