Fished Sarasota Bay with my father-in-law for a couple hours this morning. We each managed a nice red. Mine was a personal best 28", my biggest fish in a yak, and my first fish on a new to me St Croix and Daiwa Lexa 100. I'll post a video when I get a chance to edit. His was caught on a DOA shrimp, mine on a Savage Gear shrimp.

Caught a 24" red in Crystal Bay last week on a live shrimp. Best fight and biggest fish I had on the kayak. Plus, the fish tacos from that red were delicious. I had no idea Reds were that good to eat.Peggy

That fight IS incredible! The first one I caught was a couple years ago in Severn. He was about 14" but I would have sworn it was a keeper rock. Fighting this guy was amazing. Multiple runs and he still nearly spooled me. I'll be looking for more opportunities to target these guys in the future.Originally posted by Pc4sun View Post
