Need help identifying this fish

I caught a few of these in a NJ bay. The smaller fish in the pic is a snapper blue fish. The others mostly hold near structure like wood pilings in the water. I was thinking maybe banded rudder fish, but the vertical stripes were pretty light.

I'm no expert but I think you are correct on banded rubberfish. The white tips on the tail are a good clue.

looks like the illusive "tasty dinner" fish. haha. but really, the white tip tells me you and Mike are correct.
