A few weeks ago I went down to FL to see dad at my brothers place. My brother picked up a couple PA Hobies with no real clue what kayak fishing is about. After a few pointers, we both had a fun day with speck, snook and even a small tarpon.
Thing I was most surprised by was the PA. My Gawd, its a tug compared my revo. It should be called Personal Aircraft Carrier. Sure it’s nice to have enough room to hold my daughter’s reception, but maneuvering that thing was a b-buster. We had to portage about 30-40 yards between fingers, and I thought I was going to lose one of the boys. How the heck do you car top that thing?? I can fit my Revo in the glove compartment.
I know, after a couple weeks on the PA, and I would never go back to the supermodel Revo, with its small butt and only room for a carrot and celery stix lunch. But until then, give me my cigarette Revo.

The PA is why man invented the trailer. Sure your rides good for a night on the town but for the long haul you need a biscuits and sausage gravy boat.

        summersoff,

I understand your feelings entirely. My Revo is a missile in the water and at this point in my march through senior citizenship, still transportable for me on land. Those are the two reason I like it. But I have to say that when I use it, I miss the roomy deck space of my Ultimates.

Congratulations on your FL outings. The Tampa/St. Pete area is a great place to fish.

Yeah, I was really surprised how fun that area is to fish. I have two brothers in FL, one on the east coast and one on the west. I usually head East because he has nice boat for sail, tuna and stuff. It’s hard to talk him into the hour or so drive to Mosquito for some yak fishing. But after that week in St Pete area, I will definitely be heading west more often. Mangroves overhangs were everywhere, plus his PA have a Super Big Gulp cup holder with a grill attachment.
