OBX Canal Fishing

Kayak fished with my son for a couple hours this afternoon in the OBX canals. He caught several largemouth bass, but they were all about this size. He also had a white perch come off and landed this red drum.




Afterwards I dipped my feet in the pool.

Fabulous day here on the OBX. October down here is great.

Must be a lot of variety in those canals. I didn’t know white perch were in NC.

I can second the “great weather”analysis! Just rolled into Avon this evening from Arnold, Md. Stopped at Bait and Tackle shop in S. nags Head to check on kayak fishing action near Manteo and also stopped at Oregon Inlet to check on action there. I’ll hit Frank n Fran’s in Avon tomorrow as well as RedDrum Fishing in Buxton. I’ve got my SINK with me and hope to fish Sound-side several times. ( I went out in the Magothy last night and got one 17” Rock).
