I love it down there; to bad the weather was so bad when I was there earlier this month. How's the weather not, have all the storms moved on?

AnimalPA- the storms left some big swells- we had a choppy ride out to the fishing grounds, but it was well worth it-

Tasty, too- we grilled two of the snapper (filets) on a smoker grill with Cajun seasons and butter- corn on the cob, grilled asparagus- chopped salad- ICE Cold Abita Amber beer-

nice Ron. the wife and i got into some red snapper back in may when we were in Destin FLA out in 200' of H2O but we had to deflate them and throw them back season wasnt until 6-1

I was casting around for spanish and cero's busting bait in the area around the inlet by the lighthouse- For bottom fishing the wrecks, I used 30 pound class conventional reels with 50# Ande mono a 5 oz egg sinker and four feet of 80# Ande leader with a 7/0 circle hook baited with small live croakers and cigar minnows- caught other fish, but could not keep any- had to release trigger fish and grouper- season isn't open yet- 90% of all bites were red snapper and they were some really big ones- I lost a monster at the boat and had another one break the hook- we kept 10 (limit for us) and must have released several more each- I caught 10 fish- my buddy had some secret spots where he and his Dad had placed what they called Tripods, and built their own personal small artificial reefs several years ago and only fish them once or twice each season-
