I found out the opening day kinda late. I went there around around 5, there were already a lot of people but the action is kinda slow. I fished on the rail for half an hour with no luck. I moved on to a corner spot with nobody around. After 15 minutes, the fish start hitting top water near me. I caught fish every other cast for an hour. I hooked over 20 trouts, landed 11, kept my limit of 6. It was a fun day

The Fairfax County Park Authority will open the trout season at Lake Fairfax on Oct. 11. Anglers may fish for trout only and must use artificial lures with a single, barbless hook.
