The fish have arrived in Ocean City. Flounder, blues, and stripers are all being caught in large numbers. I'm leaving very early Thursday morning and fishing all day and night until Sunday. I'll let you know how I make out.

Let us know how you do!

I'm interested in heading up that way some this summer to go after rock and flatties... Not really sure where to go up there though!
    Used to fish more.

I'm taking a boat this time down. Right now the flounder are anywhere from the Route 90 bridge to the inlet and in the bay behind assateague near the airport. I will be fishing for flounder between the Thorofare and the airport during the day. I'll be on the route 50 bridge for stripers at night.

Stripers only come through the bridge during the incoming tide after dark. It's almost strictly bucktails in the heavy tide. The stripers come screaming through the inlet chasing the small baitfish that are being swept in by the strong tide. They aren't messing with bait on the bottom. Nighttime is strictly stripers on the incoming.

Daytime is about flounder. I don't usually fish from the bridge during the day because I am either in a boat or the kayak but many do and they catch flounder. Bottom rig with live minnows, shiners, squid strips or a combination of them all. I always leave minnows solo but put squid and shiners together on the same hook. A few years ago a buddy and I caught 122 flounder from the bridge in two afternoons. Of course, they seem to always place the size limit about a half inch above the size of 95% of the fish. We had 3 keepers in the 122.

We had a pretty good few days in OC. The totals were approximately 50 flounder, 150 bluefish, 100 shad, 4 stripers, 1 seatrout.

mmanolis, if I am going to fish behind Assateague I launch at the boat ramp on Golf Course Rd. For the East Channel and Thorofare I found a little space about 6 feet wide between a pier and a wall at the end of 9th St. to launch. For the Rt. 90 bridge there is a small beach on the west side of the bridge.

Great information there! I am planning on hitting that area for flatties around the 4th of July week. Good to know there are places to launch.
