  • Walk on trip with Captain Walleye Pete

Fished with Captain Pete yesterday morning at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant. March was getting away from me and I was in need of my monthly fish! The conditions were choppy but fishable. Best bite came at first light in the morning with several large fish in the upper 30s being caught. I think my best was around 32" though. Bite slowed down as the morning went on but we continued to catch smaller fish throughout the morning.

Pete's a great time and I would definitely take him up on one of his walk-on trips!

Nice job! Agree fishing with Capt Pete is a good time. So you're 3 for 3 on catching a fish in each month of 2011?

I have been skunked from shore this month... need to get out more. I'm 3 for 3, none from the yak though. I'm hoping to start that up this weekend!

Negative, light tackle jigging. The big 10'' BKDs were money in the morning, switched to the 6" as the day went on. He fishes with 6'6'' medium action St Croix Premier rods... these things are only rated to 3/4 or 5/8 and I think are freshwater rods... it's a blast.

Great job with Captain Pete, so far I am on my track for my monthly fish also. I am hoping to find some protected waters this weekend.
