Sweet day Goodie and nice job on the Goody Masgouf!
Next time try splitting them open from the top dorsal rather than the belly. It allows it to be completely flat for the grill (and when Masgouf roasting) rather than having the bump in the middle. Plus it makes scooping out the guts a lot easier with almost one pull...

Thanks. I gotcha. I did it this ways cause I already cleaned out the guts on the water. Normally I do it your way when I clean it at home.Originally posted by AbuMasgouf View PostSweet day Goodie and nice job on the Goody Masgouf!

Yeah, nice job on the masgouf style, goody. I have yet to try it. Those things look so good on the grill.

By the way those were WP and turned out to be amazing like that on the grill. Some were spiced with a BBQ coffee rub (dark ones), some with old bay, some with a Mid East spice rub, and all drizzled with olive oil. It made for a really nice alternative to frying them...Originally posted by tufnik View PostCool. Got me fired up. Now I got to go catch fish. Thanks-Mustafa

Actually they look like gill isopods. I didn't no fish actually ate those. Goes to show blues will eat anything! I'm picturing the blues nibbling the parasites off of each other haha!Originally posted by Cowpokey View PostWhat are those in the "stomach contents" picture?

Interesting! Seem similar to sand fleas in size. Looks like a Potatoe bug sort if you curl them up. According to my reading, these blues must have just come in from high salinity water.Originally posted by Shady View PostActually they look like gill isopods. I didn't no fish actually ate those. I had 2 drop out of blues we caught at Janes Island this weekend. 100% sure they were not from the gut. A first for me, however.Originally posted by Shady View PostActually they look like gill isopods. I didn't no fish actually ate those. Goes to show blues will eat anything!
