Yeah Paul, I'm hungry thinking about it too.

We should have a separate section of the forum to share recipes, cooking, all that stuff.

Awesome Mike! That Striper is truly healthy! LOL

Awesome looking poke. Never tried it but now you got me itching for it.

Gochujang is awesome. My Korean friend hooked me up with a huge tub made from a cool halmoni in his church community. I'll never go back to store bought again.

As for sriracha, look into shark brand not that processed rooster one. It's a much cleaner taste...

Yes Carter a recipe section is in order

          You're very worldly.

Cowkid1 criticizes how I speak Korean, but my wife says I pronounce things correctly. I am illiterate (read/write hangul) though, so she's got me beat there.

          Gochujang (고추장): red pepper paste

Thanks bro! I love learning about other cultures and try to make it a point to get to know and befriend people who come from different parts of the world.

Too many vile parties trying to rip this world apart... I do what I can to counter that

I used to be able to read hangul but didn't know what it meant LOL

              Truth.

I should be fluent, reading/writing/speaking with as much time as I spent there...and being married to a Korean. I know enough to get in and out of trouble, mostly IN.

My wife is getting ready to start rolling up some kimbap, her turn to bring a batch to church.

Rice, radish (yellow tunip?), odang (fish cake), carrot, spam and kim (seaweed paper). She's making "mini kimbap" as she calls it, no need to cut the rolls, just grab and eat.

She cooks the carrots in vegetable oil and fresh crushed garlic. The rice came out of the rice cooker, and added sesame seeds. Odang fried in vegetable oil and fresh crushed garlic, after it's cooked mix in soy sauce and honey. Spam is cut and pan fried. The turnip must be pickled, she bought it that way, and just cut it up.

More pics of kimbap construction, she started making full size, they will get cut to bite (mouth full) size pieces at church. She finishes them off by rubbing a little sesame oil on the outside.

Waiting for the rice cooker to finish another batch. She got it all set up, and forgot to turn it on.

Wow- that looks tasty. I never imagined that my post of the poke would result in a culinary dissertation on Korean cooking, but I'm glad it did.

In fishing news, the wind has made Piney Point very difficult to fish on the Potomac side (which is the side you catch most rocks on) the last two days I caught a few white perch on the creek side yesterday, but nothing to write home about. I had hopes this morning but when I got there it was white capping and winds projected to build. Cuckold creek gave me a few more perch, but everything seemed slow. Birds mostly just sitting in the sun trying to stay warm. Wind looks bad again for tomorrow.

Piney Point me to the fish

Hopefully this cold front gets out of here, the warm fall weather and calm air returns soon.

Here is some Yangnyeom-tongdak (양념통닭) [sweet and spicy fried chicken] I made a while back...
