I got to the birds and it was only bait on the surface, no bites

Like Solomon? Have you tried the mouth of the river?

I assume you are back by now.. what is the report? How'd ya all do? Those of us that had to work today want to live vicariously.. if you guys are still out there you must be killin' it.

Caught a small blue right outside the launch, maybe 12". Should have kept it, the only blue I got all day.

We caught a lot of dink striper through the group, but everyone ended up coming home with a two fish limit. Goody found the best ones (that I saw) at around 23" or a little more, he had two of them that size. My best was just over 19". It was a fun day on the water with great people! The wind that was predicted to kick up around 2pm, ended up not happening at all.

I had high expectations, and when I finally got out to the mouth of the river I got my binoculars out and looked for birds. I saw some toward the south side of the mouth and got exited. After peddling a couple miles south and getting on the bird, bait was busting and I knew I was going to kill it! Wrong, I trolled over the busting bait and never got a hit. Got the binoculars out again and saw a huge group of bird working even farther south, but it looked like an easy 3 more miles to get to them so I turned around and went back to where everyone else was fishing. That was a lot of peddling for not.

My wife did get to eat some super fresh sashimi before she headed to work. She used gochu-jang (hot pepper paste) for the dip today. She said it was delicious!

This is where the pedal powered Kayaks really shine.. the fact you can go a couple miles to chase birds is great... Had I paddled a couple miles it would have taken me twice the time and I would have been tired by that time.. My legs are much stronger than my arms.

It was great talking to John when he got off the water for his first day fishing with a Hobie, he was still "fresh".

Mustafa is really pleased with his 2015 Outback also...I can't wait to get one. Those seats look super comfortable. My backside was getting a little sore after 6 1/2 hours today...I did put a lot of miles on the water today though.

Did you measure the second one? I was thinking they were 23's...then you post a pic showing that one with numbers visible...you're not good at this story telling. Or, maybe your hawg trough was not calibrated correctly?
