curse of the small fish

went fishing of chesapeake beach today. And caught small rockfish 8-16" but most were 8-12". Where did they all come from? Tons of smalls. In all water depths from 3-18'. Never seen so many smalls all season. Got about 12 or so in a hour and a half before dark. I was expecting fish to get bigger this time of year not smallest of the season, lol

Abners pulled in all the big fish in the nets and threw out the smalls. We got lucky with a couple storms tearing down their nets the past few weeks, but now they cleaned out the area pretty good.

Have to try up by Harrington Harbor next. If that doesn't find fish, might have to start heading south.
