  • Preview Clean-up at Weinberg Park *this* Saturday 11/8/14

    Hello all, you can get a sneak peak preview of Weinberg Park in Pasadena this Saturday morning.

    ===========================================
    The Chesapeake Recovery Area Bay Society (CRABS) is doing a clean-up at Weinberg Park in Pasadena, MD, this Saturday, November 8, 2014. The park gates will be unlocked at 8:30 am. The clean-up will begin at 9:00 am and continue until noon or until the trash is gone, whichever comes later. Please join the CRABS volunteers and help clean up the Bay while getting a preview of Weinberg Park.

    The new parking area off the Dauses Lane park entrance will be available. CRABS will bring gloves and trash bags for volunteers. CRABS is also supplying lunch.

    Weinberg Park is 235 acres along the south shore of Rock Creek near the Patapsco. The county acquired the land for a park in 2005. The recession stalled out the implementation of a $5,000,000 2009 Master Plan for the park. The clean-up is a great chance to explore this rustic parkland while doing a good deed for the environment.

    Directions: Take Fort Smallwood Road towards Fort Smallwood Park. Take a left on Fairview Beach Road a short distance before the entrance to Fort Smallwood Park. There is a sign for Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Park at the intersection. There are two park entrances, Honolulu Lane and Dauses Lane, on the right along Fairview Beach Road. Dauses Lane is the second entrance and is where the parking area is located.

    See you there.

    Here's a link to the Weinberg Park Master Plan website. The Master Plan itself has good maps.

        You're welcome. You can check out Weinberg Park any time. If you park outside the gate at Dauses Lane and walk into the park and then veer towards the left on an old grass land you'll be heading right for the beach.
